Tracy is a Martinsville native who graduated from Martinsville High School. He attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts. After graduation he was employed by the city of Milwaukee as an administrative assistant. He returned to Martinsville to accept a position with the city of Martinsville as an Assistant Assessor in the Commissioner of Revenue's Office. After leaving the City of Martinsville, he accepted a position with Piedmont Community Services as a Substance Abuse Case Manager and worked there for 22 years until retiring in 2022. Tracy has 26 years of clean time and has been active in the recovery community during that period. He is a member of High Street Baptists Church and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
Latoya is a Henry County native and has lived in the area most of her life. She graduated from Magna Vista High School, Ridgeway, VA in 1995 with an advanced high school diploma. She also graduated from Roanoke College, Salem, VA in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She has over 23 years of experience working with the mental health and substance addiction community. Latoya has dealt with addiction prospectively in her life and is looking to become a Peer Support Specialist in the near future. She prides herself in working to support others and treating everyone she comes in contact with, with dignity and respect. In her spare time she enjoys going to church, working out at the gym, helping the Missions department/community service, and facilitation of support groups to address various topics affecting our community. Latoya respectfully is looking forward to the opportunity to help individuals struggling with addiction and becoming an agent of change at Peer Recovery Connection.
No Peer Recovery Connection staff member does only one job. We are all trained as Peer Recovery Specialists, Certified by the Virginia Certification Board (VCB), some Registered through the Virginia Board of Counseling. As such, any member of the PRC staff is trained and available to work with members one-on-one or in group settings when the need arises. We are all ready and willing to work with anyone that can benefit from our lived experiences.
